Project Name
Delivering Heat-tolerant Alleles to Raise Farm Income Along the Senegal River

About

This project builds on the partnership established between SLU and ICARDA beginning in 2013 during two previous phases (ending 2017 and 2021). It will build on the previous phases by validating the genomic selection pipeline with a goal of doubling the area of durum wheat cultivation. It will also seek the integration of female cooperatives to operate as community-based seed enterprises supporting the scaling of these technologies while generating employment and rural income. Field experiments will be conducted in Morocco and in two stations in Senegal and Mauritania in collaboration with the three national programs.
