The week of forests

ICARDA will participate in “The Week of Forests: The Role of Scientific Research in the Development of Forest and Rangeland Ecosystems and Protection of Their Services,” taking place from 12–14 November 2025 in Tunis, Tunisia.

The event, organized in collaboration with the General Directorate of Forests, Ministry of Agriculture, brings together key national and international partners including WWF, UNDP, and GIZ to advance dialogue on forest and rangeland management under climate change.

Representing ICARDA, Dr. Azaiez Ouled Belgacem, Rangeland Ecology and Management Specialist and Country Coordinator – Tunisia, will speak at the opening ceremony in the presence of H.E. the Minister of Agriculture.

On the second day, Dr. Mounir Louhaichi Research Team Leader of Rangeland Ecology and Forages and Dr. Azaiez Ouled Belgacem will join as panelists in two thematic sessions:

• Scientific Research Findings Related to the Development of Forest Ecosystems
• Scientific Research Findings Related to the Restoration and Sustainable Management of Rangeland Ecosystems
