Almarai Prize Awards Ceremony 2025
The Almarai Prize Awards Ceremony will take place on Monday, 1 December 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud, Governor of Riyadh Region, the ceremony will highlight the awarding of the Almarai Prize to the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA). The award recognizes the success of ICARDA’s project “Enhancing Food Security in Arab Countries.”
The project spanned over 12 years and has been implemented in Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Palestine, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, and Yemen, it focuses on raising productivity while reducing import dependency in the Arab region. It offers sustainable agricultural solutions that empower farmers, improve productivity, and contribute to achieving a more food-secure future for the Arab world.
This achievement was made possible without the strong support of ICARDA’s long-standing partners from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development AFESD, OPEC Fund for International Development, Gates Foundation, Islamic Development Bank Group, and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development. Their commitment and trust throughout the 12-year journey were key in bringing this ambitious project to life.
The Almarai Prize aims to recognize and support scientists and innovators worldwide who contribute to global progress through pioneering research and solutions in food security for dryland regions.
