AgriTech4Egypt Innovation Challenge - Bootcamp
ICARDA is excited to announce the upcoming AgriTech4Egypt Bootcamp, scheduled to take place from June 10 to June 13, 2024 in Cairo. This event will bring together purpose-driven scientists and entrepreneurs who will collaborate on innovative agri-tech solutions to foster a more sustainable, efficient, and climate-resilient agricultural system in Egypt. During the bootcamp, 25 carefully selected teams will have the opportunity to benefit from technical guidance and mentorship, helping them prepare for the pitch day. This intensive program aims to provide participants with the necessary tools and support to develop their ideas into impactful ventures.
The AgriTech4Egypt Bootcamp is part of the broader AgriTech4Egypt Innovation Challenge, a series of events designed to nurture the agri-tech sector in Egypt. The challenge seeks to scout, accelerate, and fund agri-tech solutions that align with the country's objectives outlined in the 2030 Sustainable Agricultural Development Strategy. The strategy aims to modernize the agriculture sector through enhanced resource efficiency, the application of cutting-edge technologies, and the promotion of agri-industrialization. Furthermore, these efforts align with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals.
The AgriTech4Egypt Innovation Challenge is powered by CGIAR Accelerate for Impact Platform (A4IP) and co-organized with CGIAR Centers The Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, ICARDA, IWMI, and IFPRI. This important event is part of the CGIAR Regional Initiative F2R-CWANA (Fragility to Resilience Initiative, Work Program 5) led by ICARDA. Esteemed national partners such as the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) of Egypt, Chemonics Egypt Consultants, and Berytech are supporting the event.
This project is endorsed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt (MOHESR) and supported by PRIMA, Climate Resilient Africa Fund (CRAF), ALEX BANK, Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture (SFSA), SEKEM, and CGIAR Initiatives and units operating in the MENA region.
