Integrating Climate, Water and Food Security in Conflict-Affected Settings - Side Event at UN Climate Change Conference
On June 11th, ICARDA is organizing a side event titled “Integrating Climate, Water, and Food Security in Conflict-Affected Settings” during the UN Climate Change Conference will be held in Bonn, Germany. The event will be held at 14.45 – 16.00 at Room Berlin, located at the World Conference Center Bonn.
The event will explore the challenges of building resilient livelihoods in the context of protracted displacement and compounding conflict and climate risks in the MENA region and present good and effective practices for inclusive, transformative, and peace-positive solutions. The goal is to critically discuss the gaps and needs in upscaling and replicating successful solutions to enhance climate resilience in the MENA region, with a particular focus on frontline communities.
ICARDA will host this event in collaboration with the Alliance of Bioversity and CIAT and CGIAR’s MENA Regional Climate Security Hub as well as with esteemed session partners like the UN Refugee Agency UNHCR, and the International Development Law Organization (IDLO).
