Workshop Egyptian Irrigated Agriculture
Workshop Egyptian Irrigated Agriculture

On May 19, 2024, ICARDA is hosting a stakeholder consultation workshop about Egyptian irrigated agriculture at the hotel Holiday Inn Maadi. The event is co-organized by the Excellence in Agronomy (EiA) Initiative of the CGIAR which aims to enhance the productivity and quality of smallholder farming households in prioritized farming systems by 2030.

The objective of this workshop is to establish a comprehensive adaptation priority list that will provide guidance for the next business cycle of the “Irrigated Wheat-Based Production Systems platform of EiA”. Through collaboration with various stakeholders, we aim to identify clear priorities and actionable solutions that firmly enhance resilience, improve livelihoods, and strengthen food security for irrigated drylands. This process is intended to ensure that our research and development efforts are in sync with the critical needs of the agricultural sector in the global drylands.
