MENA Climate Week & ICARDA Workshop on Integrated Desert Farming
Ahead of COP28, the city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will host the Middle East and North Africa Climate Week 2023 (MENACW2023) from October 8th to 12th. MENA Climate Week 2023 provides a platform for policymakers, international organizations, practitioners, businesses, and civil society to come together and discuss climate solutions, implementation challenges, and regional opportunities. It serves as a precursor to the UNFCCC COP28 and is part of a series of Regional Climate Weeks leading up to the conference.
ICARDA is organizing a workshop about "Integrated Desert Farming - Innovation for Climate Resilience in the MENA Region" on Thursday, October 12th from 9.00 - 10.00am in room Al Ula.
MENACW2023 will cover four main tracks: energy systems and industry, urban and rural development, land and water management, and societal well-being and economies. These tracks aim to provide region-specific insights that contribute to the global stocktake on climate action.
