In the face of intensifying climate change and increasingly variable conditions, the future of agriculture in the global drylands is at stake. ICARDA is stepping up to the challenge by refreshing its current strategy to ensure it remains relevant and fit for purpose in a fast-changing world. In addition, ICARDA is leading the development of a new Global Drylands Strategy 2030 for CGIAR.
To kick-off both strategy processes, ICARDA is organizing a Strategy Meeting in Lebanon/Beeka Valley hosted by the Lebanese Agricultural Research Institute (LARI) on October 4 and 5, 2023. The meeting will be attended by members of the ICARDA Board of Trustees and Director Generals of National Agricultural Research Systems – NARS – as well as leading scientists of ICARDA & CGIAR and other high-level guests.
