The sad demise of Dr. Yasser Mhawish

On 27 August, 2015, ICARDA lost one of its outstanding staff, Dr. Yasser Mhawish, who was working as the Watershed Scientist in Afghanistan. ICARDA family is shocked by his sudden and tragic demise. Colleagues remember Dr. Mhawish as an intellectual, kind and gentle person. His body was laid to rest in Amman, Jordan, on 2 September. Before joining ICARDA, Dr. Mhawish was a researcher with Jordan’s National Center for Agricultural Research and Extension (NCARE). He is survived by his wife and three children. ICARDA conveys its deepest condolence to the bereaved family.
