ICARDA is delighted to host a high-level Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) delegation at its Rabat campus in Morocco. The visit is scheduled to take place from August 18 to 20, 2024.

ICARDA has a longstanding collaboration with CAAS and jointly operates the Center of Excellence in Dryland Agriculture (CEDA) in Beijing in partnership with CAAS and ICRISAT.

The purpose of the upcoming visit in Rabat is to facilitate discussions and idea exchange between CAAS and ICARDA, with a focus on exploring potential areas of collaboration in seed innovation.

Led by Mr. YE Yujiang, Vice President of CAAS, the delegation will be given a guided tour of ICARDA's genebank and laboratories in Rabat. They will also visit the speed breeding laboratory, where ICARDA scientists have developed innovative technology enabling the production of multiple generations of climate-smart crops in a shorter time frame and the expedited release of new crop varieties.
