The regional RPW programme will hold its annual meeting in Aswan, Egypt on 23-24 November 2022coinciding with the launch of RPW Farmer Field Schools: training of trainers and facilitators for the North Africa region.

the meeting will review and evaluate the progress report of the programme, assess the development of the RPW situation and the efficiency of the programmes at the regional level and discuss project partners commitments and upcoming events.

Boubaker Dhehibi from ICARDA will participate in the discussion on socio-economic impact assessment of the red palm Weevil in the NENA region.

The Forum on Fostering Interregional Collaboration on Sand and Dust Storms will be held on 7–8 October 2025 at the United Nations House in Beirut, Lebanon. Organized by the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), with the support of the Government of Sweden, the Forum is part of the United Nations Decade on Combating Sand and Dust Storms (2025–2034)
