ICARDA is happy to host the 2023 edition of the ISDC Science Forum together with our partner, the "Institut National de Recherche Agronomique" (INRA), in Rabat, Morocco.
The ISDC Science Forum aims to explore and debate science for development through international dialogue on critical issues in agricultural research. As the world is concurrently experiencing increased food prices, conflict, forced displacement, and climate-related extreme events, which all have contributed to rising hunger and malnutrition, this conference aims to discuss the research priorities of the CGIAR 2030 Research and Innovation Strategy, with a specific focus on Gender Equality, Youth, and Social Inclusion as these topics are essential for the successful transformation of agrifood systems.
In the framework of the CGIAR, the Independent Science for Development Council (ISDC) is an external standing panel of experts appointed by the CGIAR System Council who is in charge of providing independent strategic advice (i.e., on the CGIAR's longer-term research strategy) to the CGIAR System Council and the broader CGIAR System as a whole.
