CGIAR is hosting on Monday, 6 September, a side event to explore the role of science, innovation, and partnerships in creating sustainable and resilient food systems in Africa. The side event will be transmitted virtually through the AGRF portal, allowing participants throughout the continent to join in the conversation.
One CGIAR’s session has the theme “An international partnership to deliver science and innovations for a radical transformation of food, land, and water systems in Africa.”
We are delighted to announce that Eng. Aly Abousabaa, Regional Director of CWANA region at CGIAR and Director General of ICARDA will join forces with other CGIAR Regional Directors at the AGRF Presummit on the 6th of September to provide insights on priorities for the African region and speak on examples of innovations that helped transform Africa’s food systems.
In addition, Dr. Naglaa Abdallah who is a senior scientist at the Agricultural Research Center in Egypt which is our research partner in Egypt will be attending a VIP panel discussion that talks about where and how can One CGIAR research and innovation make the most difference in Africa.
On the 9th of September, there will be a participatory event in which our Gender Scientist, Dina Najjar, will be speaking in a session titled “Accelerating Resilience and Recovery through One Health.”
