ICARDA at Cairo Water Week
This year’s edition of Cairo Water Week will take place from October 29 to November 2, 2023, at The Nile Ritz Carlton Hotel in Cairo and will focus on “Action on Water Adaptation for Sustainability”.
CGIAR's Regional Director CWANA and Director General of ICARDA, Mr. Aly Abousabaa, will lead an ICARDA delegation that will participate in several high-level events and workshops and host two technical sessions.
The delegation aims to showcase ICARDA’s latest groundbreaking agri innovations related to improved water resources management, share their expertise on topics such as irrigation and salinity-affected landscapes, and advocate for more sustainable water management practices in the arid MENA region.
Together with its partners, ICARDA is committed to making significant contributions to the development of innovative solutions and actionable strategies that address water-related challenges both within the region and on a broader scale.
The two sessions hosted by ICARDA are:
- Wednesday, November 1, 9:30 – 11:00 - “Water-Energy-Food-Environment Nexus for Enhanced Climate Resilience in MENA Region” – Hosted by ICARDA and co-convened by the Arab Water Council (AWC) – Heliopolis Ballroom
- Wednesday, November 1, 11:30 – 13:00 - “Digital Applications for Improved Water Resources Management” – Hosted by ICARDA and co-convened by National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences (NARSSS) – Heliopolis Ballroom
