Cairo Water Week 2022’s main theme will be” Water at the Heart of the Climate Action” from 16th to 19th of October 2022, where water actors and stakeholders around the world would have the opportunity to present and discuss key issues, policies, strategies, plans, and measures related to climate-water challenges.

ICARDA will be leading multiple technical sessions:

Digital Applications for Improved Water Resources Management
Improving Water Productivity under Changing Climate
Water-Energy-Food Nexus for Climate-proofing MENA Agriculture
Co-leading with IWMI - CGIAR contribution to sustainable agricultural water management in the MENA: Tapping into research for development impact

On the sideline of CWW, ICARDA scientists will participate in 5th African Young Water Professional Forum training on 17 & 18 October in Hilton.

The Forum on Fostering Interregional Collaboration on Sand and Dust Storms will be held on 7–8 October 2025 at the United Nations House in Beirut, Lebanon. Organized by the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), with the support of the Government of Sweden, the Forum is part of the United Nations Decade on Combating Sand and Dust Storms (2025–2034)
