Africa Food Systems Forum

The Africa Food Systems Forum 2025 will take place from 31 August to 5 September in Dakar, Senegal, under the patronage of H.E. Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar FAYE, President of Senegal. This year’s theme — “Africa’s Youth Leading Collaboration, Innovation, and Implementation of Agri-Food Systems Transformation” — highlights the central role of Africa’s young people in building more sustainable, inclusive, and climate-resilient food systems. The Forum will gather policymakers, researchers, business leaders, and development partners to discuss priorities and accelerate progress across the continent.

Organized by the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), with the support of the Government of Sweden, the Forum is part of the United Nations Decade on Combating Sand and Dust Storms (2025–2034)
