3rd International Wheat Congress
The International Wheat Congress is a leading biennial event that gathers the global wheat community, including top experts, researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals, to discuss cutting-edge developments in wheat breeding, genetics, genomics, and agronomy. The 3rd edition of this conference will be held from September 22-27, 2024, and is being organized by the Centre for Crop & Food Innovation and the WA State Agricultural Biotechnology Centre at Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia. As a major wheat-producing region, Western Australia is well-positioned to host this significant event, given its substantial contributions to the global wheat market.
ICARDA will be represented by Dr. Wuletaw Tadesse Degu, the leader of the spring bread wheat breeding program. Dr. Tadesse will present on “Wheat Breeding and Scaling in Africa: Challenges and Opportunities from ICARDA’s Perspective.”
