11th International Conference on Legume Genetic and Genomics
The 11th International Conference on Legume Genetics and Genomics is scheduled from September 30 to October 3, 2024, at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in Queensland, Australia, gathering around 400 prominent researchers, educators, and agri-food representatives in the legume genetics and genomics field. The conference aims to exchange the latest advancements in legume genetics and genomics, unraveling the molecular foundations of crucial biological processes and plant characteristics for sustainable agriculture, contributing to global strategies for enhancing legumes for food security while minimizing environmental impact. The event is organized by the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation, a research institute of The University of Queensland, supported by the Queensland Government.
ICARDA will host a Chickpea Ascochyta Blight Consortium Workshop at the sidelines of the conference that will offer a platform for international experts to discuss the latest developments in managing the fungal pathogen Ascochyta blight and review recent project outputs. All the Ascochyta blight consortium members who participated in the project will attend the workshop. ICARDA will be represented by Dr. Aladdin Hamwieh, chickpea breeder and biotechnologist, Dr. Tawffiq Istanbuli, chickpea research associate, and Dr. Seid-Ahmed Kemal, legume pathologist.
