Layal Atassi
Layal Atassi joined ICARDA’s Geoinformatics Unit in 2006, applying GIS and remote sensing domain methods and models for watershed characterization, climate change, agro-ecosystems, conservation agriculture, and production environment descriptors for animals. Atassi also conducts spatial statistical analyses for pest risk mapping and spatial data management, and delivers training courses in agricultural GIS applications to ICARDA and NARS staff. Atassi holds a master’s degree in applied geographical information systems from Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom.
