Abeyou Wale Worqlul
Scientist - Soil and Water Conservation Modeling
Dr. Worqlul is an Ethiopian National and holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering, Cornell University, USA. He has seven years of experience working as a PostDoc and Assistant Research Scientist at Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Temple, TX. His research focuses on understanding the integrated impact of watershed management practices from farm to watershed scale. This encompasses a hydrological assessment of land use, climate, and agricultural management practice's effect on streamflow, soil loss, nutrient transport, crop growth, and satellite-based remote sensing application in data-scarce regions to investigate environmental risks and hydrology of ungauged streams.

Overall his research is geared towards developing hydrological and remote-sensing tools that help ensure a productive, sustainable, and resilient agricultural system. Dr. Worqlul has published more than 60 peer-reviewed scientific articles. Dr. Worqlul has supervised 10 MSc and 5 Ph.D. students in Ghana, Ethiopia, and Tanzania.
